What is Citizen Wayne?

It’s the over-vigilant head of the neighborhood watch committee. It’s the adult man who goes back to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo for the first time since childhood.  It’s the group of twenty-somethings that all live in a big house, Friends-style.

Citizen Wayne is envisioned as a community, collaborative radio journalism experiment that produces audio content about life—past and present—in Fort Wayne, IN. As a volunteer-driven production, it accepts submissions from listeners and community members. Because the show will be produced on-air on WBOI, many submitters may not be able to produce content at a quality that meets WBOI’s high standards. If their story idea is valid, volunteer producers can meet with the submitters and assist them in their news-gathering and editing.
